Slot Types and Features
The rotating symbols on the front of the machine are called “drums”. Previously, they were just big coils made of metal, which physically rotated inside of the machine, but now they, as a rule, perform only a representative function. In fact, in most modern slot types, these drums are nothing more than screens.
The traditional old school slot types have three reels, but the more advanced slot machines use five reels. Additional reels make it possible to offer even larger jackpots because with additional reels it becomes significantly more difficult to win a prize.
Slot machines have undergone many changes in recent years. Starting with the most basic three-reel games, they turned into a highly interactive form of entertainment with lots of features, 3D graphics, and an exciting sound. The list below examines the most common slot types.
