Tencent has developed a unique system for identification of gamers
Chinese developer of video games Tencent launched a new system of user identification, aimed at limiting the number of underage players, reports Reuters.
On September 6, Tencent published on its channel in WeChat information that it will present a new identification system for Honor of Kings players, whose goal is to identify and limit the participation in gambling of underage persons.
The system will be linked to China's national security database and is the first of its kind in the Chinese gaming industry.
These measures were taken one week after reports from the Ministry of Education of China that it is necessary to reduce the number of online video games and the time spent with them. The reason for this is the deterioration of sight among Chinese children.
"Thanks to these measures, Tencent hopes to continue to encourage players to treat gambling as well as gaming intelligently," - the company said in its official WeChat account.
