Sweden attracts international operators

Government of Sweden tries to attract as much foreign operators as possible

The Swedish regulator Lotteriinspektionen has published updated applications for gambling licenses, which will take effect on August 1.

Licensed operators and new companies wishing to become part of the regulated Swedish market are urged to submit updated applications for licenses next month.

According to Adas Kostial, senior vice president of Nasdaq, international operators who seriously consider prospect of obtaining a license for gambling in the country have an opportunity to provide listing on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. He noted that Nasdaq Stockholm could add about 100 new ads by the end of the year.

"We see how international interest is growing. This gives grounds for optimistic forecasts," - Kostial added.
Stockholm is the second largest market in the Nasdaq after the United States. "We are pleased to enter into a dialogue with companies on opportunities and potential limitations," Kostial said.

Earlier, a representative of the Swedish regulator outlined the conditions for obtaining online licenses for gambling operators.
