PAGCOR denied information regarding the provision of a monopoly for Playtech software

Last week it was reported that the Philippine casino regulator and operator PAGCOR issued a memorandum confirming that Playtech Monford Inc. is the first and only gaming software provider.

However, in a statement released on Friday, PAGCOR said it did not provide Playtech with a monopoly regarding online casinos.

The regulator referred to a message dated to September 4, according to which he issued a POGO license for 15 days to apply for accreditation for his suppliers of gambling programs.

PAGCOR said that the announcement of the accreditation of Monford was made because it was the only company that complied with the directive at that time. In addition, the regulator explained that it is still accepting applications for accreditation from suppliers of gambling programs.

Previously, PAGCOR reported on the results of the fight against illegal gambling operators. The regulator has made more than 170 raids on unlicensed online gambling operators.
