Novomatic will pay the player compensation in amount of €2.5 million

Novomatic slot machines became the reason for the development of gambling addiction for the gamer. The Austrian operator will pay the player a compensation of €2.5 million by the court.

According to the plaintiff, he had problems with gambling for ten years. The company has not responded properly to the behavior of a gamer. This led to the fact that during this period he spent on the slot machines about €2 million euros.

Experts investigating the incident found that the man was “partially incapacitated” because of his addiction. At the same time, no one restricted him from making bets on slot machines, some of which were especially large.

In turn, representatives of one of the world's leading manufacturers of slot machines - Novomatic company, said they intend to appeal the decision of the court.

Earlier, a subsidiary of Novomatic Gaming Industries GmbH announced the merger with the parent company Novomatic AG.
