New casino will be opened in Cyprus
The Cyprus consortium led by Melco International Development Ltd plans to open a casino in the terminal building of Larnaca International Airport on the southern coast of Cyprus.
The operator of Larnaca Airport Hermes Airports Ltd has signed a two-year agreement with Integrated Casino Resorts Cyprus (ICR Cyprus), under which ICR Cyprus will receive two specific locations in the building to create a casino.
"The first location is in the departure zone, it will be available exclusively to passengers which depart, while the second location will be located in the arrival zone, with access for the general public," representatives of Hermes Airports and Melco International said during a joint press release .
According to official information, the first location will be put into operation within the next three months, and the second - by the end of this year. As reported in the press release, the casino will have at least 50 slot machines.
The ICP Cyprus consortium opened a temporary casino in Limassol (Cyprus) on June 28 to serve the players until the completion of the construction of the City of Dreams Mediterranean casino in 2021.
In June 2017, the consortium, led by Melco International, received a thirty-year casino license from the Government of the Republic of Cyprus. The original single license also gives its owner the permission to build three additional casinos - in Nicosia, Famagusta and Paphos.
