Japan has adopted the latest application for a casino-resort

The process of applying for a license to build a casino resort ended on Friday, September 21.

According to the media, not only domestic, but also international companies submitted their plans and information to the government.

Authorities report that out of 12 companies that showed interest in developing gambling business in Japan, eight are international operators, two are internal operators, the rest are related to other types of entrepreneurial activity. Caesars Entertainment, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, MGM Resorts and Wynn Resorts are among the candidates.

Earlier it was reported that 22 companies showed interest in construction after the legalization of the casino. However, only 12 actually participated in the filing of applications.

Experts believe that Yokohama is one of the main contenders for the construction of a casino resort. Among the potential candidates are also the prefectures of Osaka, Nagasaki and Hokkaido.
