Government of India may allow casinos on cruise liners
The Indian Cruise Line Association (INCLA) insists on allowing the casino aboard the cruise liners. With similar recommendations, representatives of INCLA appealed to Minister Ganga Nitin Gadkari within the framework of the world cruise conclave in Mumbai.
INCLA noted that the launch of gambling establishments will positively affect the development of the entire shipping industry. Despite this, Gadkari is an ardent opponent of the casino. Two years ago, he opposed the establishment of similar institutions in India and lobbied for a ban on local casinos.
It remains to be seen whether the minister will change his position regarding this issue. He promised to promote and support the shipping industry. If the casino is one of the mandatory factors of market growth, perhaps, it will change his decision, allowing the opening of institutions.
