Genting Hong Kong Ltd will install electronic gambling devices on board of their ships

Cruise casino operator Genting Hong Kong Ltd plans to place electronic equipment and devices for online games on their ships.

Genting Hong Kong, a subsidiary of the Malaysian conglomerate Genting Bhd, has been buying equipment from FreeStyle Gaming Pte Ltd. for some time. It is part of the Singapore Resorts World Inc Pte Ltd, a company controlled in equal proportions by Genting Bhd and the group of companies of the chairman Lim Kok Tai.

The total limit of the agreement is $7 million. According to Genting Hong Kong, it is valid from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021, and provides for an annual limit of $1 million for 2019. As for 2020 and 2021, the limit for this period will be $ 3 million.

The company said that the annual limits were set based on the procurement volume forecast for the financial period from 2019 to 2021.

Representatives of Genting Hong Kong said that the renewed deal with FreeStyle Gaming complies with the company's strategy to diversify the offer of entertainment on cruise ships by providing customers with the service of various electronic games. The deal, according to representatives of the company, will help reduce labor resources, expand the target age range of customers and maintain the competitiveness of cruise lines.

In the past few years, the company is actively engaged in the implementation of its plans to expand the cruise business. So, in September 2018, it became known that Genting Hong Kong will add another new cruise ship to its fleet. A portfolio of three brands was also developed, each of which is focused on different sectors of the market: Crystal Cruises is an ultra-luxury segment, Dream Cruises is a premium, Star Cruises is a modern mass market.
