Facebook banned gambling ads in Italy

Facebook will ban advertising of gambling on its pages in Italy

Facebook, like Google, has changed its policy regarding advertising in Italy. Corresponding changes were presented to local advertisers.

It is reported that in connection with the issuance of the decree on the dignity of Luigi Di Mayo, the company will not advertise gambling and gambling services in Italy. Facebook will withdraw all previous written authorizations that were issued to work with licensed local operators.

The new program will come into force in the near future (probably in a few weeks). The Facebook social network will not advertise the gambling pages or on site ads.

The law prohibiting the advertising of gambling in Italy will come into force on January 1, 2019. Experts believe that such a government policy runs counter to the licensing obligations of online gambling operators. If the law is adopted not on a temporary basis, the authorities can not avoid lawsuits.
