Construction of a new casino in Manila will begin in 2019

Construction of the second resort in Manila, owned by Alliance Global Group Inc, will begin in 2019 and will be completed in 2020.

Kevin Tan, CEO of the Alliance Global Group Inc, reported this in an interview with the Manila Times.

The project will be prepared by the division of Megaworld Corp. and will be the location of the Westside City Resorts World casino resort (developed by Travelers International Hotel Group Inc., which is an intermediary of Alliance Global and Genting Hong Kong Ltd).

It was expected that Westside City Resorts World, formerly known as Bayshore City Resorts World and Resorts World Bayshore, would begin work by the end of 2018.

According to a report published in February, the casino will be part of an entertainment town of 31 hectares located in the Manila Bay area. At the same time, information was received that the opening is scheduled for 2021.

The latest report confirms that Alliance Global - through Megaworld - intends to invest 121 billion Philippine pesos ($2.30 billion) in the development of Westside City. The amount of the planned investment was announced on the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Travelers International operates the Resorts World resort in Manila, located close to the international airport. The company's report for the third quarter of 2018 published a net profit of 134.2 million Filipino pesos.
